FTL joins PwC webinar on being a parent of LGBTQ+ children

We were delighted when PwC approached us to take part in this specific session to do with parenting LGBTQ+ children.  This event was for PwC’s internal use only so it wasn’t possible to put on our website the actual discussion but PwC have kindly written the following description of the event.  I can say on behalf of FTL that we were very grateful that a company which is so supportive of their employees was able to approach us for this project.

As part of PwC's commitment to build global relationships across its firms in relation to their People Networks, several sessions have been hosted by the UK and South African teams in relation to interfaith and also parenting in relation to LGBTQ+ children and their families. Jackie was invited to attend the session as a mother to both a gay son and lesbian daughter and someone who was able to talk openly about how to support both the immediate family and others around them in being sensitive as people open up and come out.

The Shine network, PwC's LGBTQ+ People Network, is a well established group of both LGBTQ+ people and allies, which now stretches across the world. Shine UK has over 1000 members, supporting those around them both internally and externally as they steer their way through their careers. Here's a link to their page on the PwC site, well worth a look to get a better understanding how one of the 'Big 4' accountancy firms is striving for better culture amongst its people and supporting clients to do the same.
